If you decide to go to the local mosque, and say the shadahah, and you have strong convictions about why you are becoming a Muslim, is it OK to state those convictions openly and puclically?

I think its a wonderful idea ,  If a person is confident he/she should definately state their convictions openly and publicallyClap

Our Lord! You truly know all that we may hide [in our hearts] as well as all that we bring into the open, for nothing whatever, be it on earth or in heaven, remains hidden from Allah (14:3

I had said shahadah privately over the phone, I was hoping it would have an impact if I did so publically, I guess not

yes but don't rock the boat.. if you know what i mean. Smile

the way we do it here is that you go to a registered  local muslim organisation and say your shadah in front of a few witnesses. then they will keep yr name in a database. this is very important legally. should there is a need to verify that you are a muslim, the organisation is a credible witness.

may rahmah from Allah rain on you
