Apple Pie...

There was no war as Christians may think...

Satan (iblis, lucifer) did not try to overthrow God or think he was greater than God.

He disobeyed God in arrogance when God told him and the Angles to bow to Adam, his new creation, in servitude.

So, there is no war between God, his angels, and Satan and the Jinn... they are allowed to live until the day of Judgment to test mankind.

its really that basic.

Hey Jim,

Then why does sura 72 make the claim that there was war in Heaven...from the vantage point of the Jinn...?

I would take that more figurative.

Can anyone wage war against God?  the All Mighty?  No.

So...

You agree that sura 72 mentions a war in Heaven.

However, who ever said that the war existed with God?

The Qur'an doesn't teach there is a war in heaven because it goes against heaven being taught as a place of peace and security.

What Islam teaches, and what the Koran states, are two entirely different things...

Sura 72 doesn’t talk about war, it talks about those who eavesdrop on matters they have no business sticking their noses into and what happens to them.

"And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. 'We used, indeed, to sit there in (hidden) stations, to (steal) a hearing; but any who listen now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush." {72: 8-9}

Here's a tafsir of sura 72, it might help you to understand it a little better.

No it isn't. Islam is based off of Qur'an and sunnah of Rasulullah (sal Allahu alahi wa salam). Regardless of peoples actions. Can you please spell Qur'an correctly? Thank you.

Here's a tafsir of sura 72, it might help you to understand it a little better.

It talks about war.

Observe…

وأنا لمسنا السماء فوجدنها ملئت حرسا شديدا

وشهبا

Waanna lamasna alssamaa fawajadnaha muli-at harasan shadeedan washuhuban

72.8   And we, we had sought the heaven so we found her filled (with) strong guards in war and stars that dart down after a devil.

Moreover, compare to its source…

Rev 12:7-9  And war occurred in Heaven, Michael and his angels making war against the dragon.  And the dragon and his angels made war, but they did not have strength, nor yet was place found for them in Heaven.   And the great dragon was cast out, the old serpent being called devil, and, Satan; he deceiving the whole habitable world was cast out onto the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Now…

Being cognizant that sura 72 was copied from the Book of Revelation; we can see clearly the intent by the Koranic authors…
