Let me do a bit of an opinion check with everyone out there.  Yesturday I was at my uni and tried to see a doctor to get a note for a late assignment to give to my prof.  There was only one doctor who said it was better if I came back tomorrow.  I asked the receptionists why the doctor would say this and they just said he didn't deal with the issues that I had.  My instict was to ask if the doctor was Jewish and he was.  The receptionist told me that he didn't see female patients.

 

Okay sisters, how would this make you feel?  I mean as a Canadian citizen I am guaranteed free national health care, but I was turned away because of my gender.  Let's me serious for a minute what kind of doctor would work at a uni where patients are bound to come in with diverse medical conditions.  Why wouldn't such a pious doctor specialize in men's health???

 

Needless to say I was a little angry yesturday would anybody else out there feel the same way?

Just needed a note for a prof, that's it.  I would never allow myself to be examined by a male doc either.  A university campus should be filled with academics and free from prejudice.  My point is that this doctor should be on our campus.  Think of all the students who have been turned away because this doctor wouldn't see a woman.  My reasoning is more for non-Muslims.  I mean think of students who may have to deal with issues like STDs and procreation, but they can't get services because the doctor on duty is a Jew.  My university observes Christian and Jewish holidays.  I'm tired of Jews receiving preferential treatment over every other minority.
