The Shura has voted to institute changes to the forum. Over the next week you will see these changes occur. You've already seen one, the forum cop. The forum cop is a super moderator for the forum. He/she can give warnings, edit posts, suspend users, close threads, etc. No one knows the identity of the forum cop.

The forum structure will also undergo changes as well. Current Events will be reopened. Some forums will be deleted. The forum will be broken into two sections. One section, General Discussion, will be open to all users. Anyone will be able to read or post in this section. Here are the forums that will in this section.

There will also be a special Da'wah section. In this section we will have:

• Questions and Discussion about Islam 
• Women's Forum (available to women with 30+ posts who have been on for at least a month)

The QD forum will be readable by all. However, posting privilages for this forum will be restricted to members of the da'wah team and select non-Muslims. The Women's Forum will still be available to all women who meet the criteria as before (30+ posts, forum membership of at least one month).

The current forum will be archived and become read only. The new forums, with the exception of the Women's Forum, will start from scratch. Insha'Allah, this will not cause much inconvenience to users and will be a great change for all.
