Headlines really know how to grab your attention - awful as it sounds, it is exactly what happened:

Two girls killed as holiday treat ends in horror smash

AN Easter holiday break turned to tragedy yesterday when two teenage girls were killed in Co Galway.

The girls, aged 13 and 14, were part of a youth group from the Islamic Cultural Centre in Dublin and were heading to Connemara for a short break when the people carrier in which they were travelling went out of control and crashed into a pole.

Two others in the vehicle were critically injured and were fighting for their lives last night. Two other passengers in the seven-seater were seriously injured, while one sustained non life-threatening injuries.

The accident happened just after 2.30pm as the people carrier was travelling in convoy with two minibuses from Dublin to the Killary Adventure Centre at Leenane in Connemara. Some 40 teenagers were to take part in the three-day holiday.

You can read the rest here

and more here

I'd like to ask all of you to pray for the girls and their families. I know the families involved and it pains me to think of the pain they are going through now at this moment.  I couldnt sleep last night thinking about it.

Funerals were yesterday.

Actually, there is a bit of good news. The third girl is still alive.  For nearly a day and a half, we were being told she's died, no she's alive etc... I think some people have have been told she's on her death bed and misinterpreted this meaning! She has awoken from her coma alhamdulillah and has a long way to go, but the good news is that she is still with us.

It is very sad...i wish that more people understood that when they enter a vehicle, they really are playing a sort of russian roulette with their lives no matter how good the driver of their vehicle is.
It's always the other guy you have to be worried about.
I try to stay away from anything moving faster than the speed of my feet.  If i can't walk there, odds are it's not really that important.
Waiting an eternity for an apology from one who never apologizes but always demands one.
