Salaam,

Are you talking about the guy who was threatened at a mosque for an article he wrote against those who use violence in the name of Islam?

Wasalam.

I think I remember this. Basically some guy went to the press claiming that he'd been banned from a Mosque for writing an article condemning Al-Qa'ida, though the Mosque in question said that this wasn't true. They said what they had a problem with wasn't his condemning Al-Qa'ida, but for him also saying in said article that half the funds collected by American Mosques and Islamic institutions are being sent to fund terrorism; and said that he was never banned from the Mosque because of this, what happened was he was asked by the Imam to leave the prayer hall after shouting and threatening to hit someone when a member of the congregation confronted him about this accusation, and that he's welcome to return if he apologises.

How such a minor incident was worthy of being international news I'll never understand.
