a: Said ibn Muadh
b: Muadh ibn Jabal
c: Rujul ibn Mara

No one answered my question...

I'll guess Muadh ibn Jabal, since I've never heard of a companion named Rujul ibn Mara (not that that means anything.) At first I thought your question was talking about the companion being on his death bed, about to die? If that's the case, it can't be Muadh because Muadh outlived the Prophet (saws), so it would have to be Rujul.

Actually, I asked a trick question, its none of the three.  It is Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas, who was on his deathbed by the way.  The first two are companions, however choice C just means "Man son of a woman"

hmmm, shall I add a new rule?  Don't ask questions that you don't provide the correct answer within the choices?

Umme Kulsoom

Zainab. Her husband was Abu Al-`as bin Al-Rabi` who remained a pagan despite her accepting Islam. She stayed with him in Mecca until he was captured after the Battle of Badr by the Muslims, whereupon she paid a ransom for his release. Before Ibn Al-Rabi` was released Muhammad (pbuh) talked with him and asked him to allow Zainab to come to Medina as it wasn't proper for her to be living with an enemy to her father, and Ibn Al-Rabi` agreed to let her leave. A time after returning to Mecca he finished paying of a debt to a local man, and then declared that he accepted Islam, and said the reason he hadn't accepted it before was because he didn't want anyone to think he only did so so he could go to Medina and escape paying back his debt.

Question: Which Sura of the Qur'an contains a verse mentioning a future Caliph of the Muslims (if not by name)?

A) Sura Al-Baqara
B) Sura Al-Ma`ida
C) Sura At-Tawba
D) Sura Yusuf

Good.  Because I was like, who would name a person "Rujul?" Even though I thought the word for woman was "imra'a" and not "mara." And I did at least know that Muadh was not on his deathbed since he outlived the Prophet (s). So I feel like I came out okay from your TRICK QUESTION.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, not really sure what the question is asking....

How about (D) Surah Yusuf, because it mentions the title Al-Azeez, and there was a khalifa who was named 'Umar ibn Abd-al-Azeez?

Clever, but not what I was looking for I'm afraid. Try a little more explicit.

C) Surah Al Tawba, where there is a description of when the Prophet(SAW) and Abu Bakr were in the cave when trying to get away from Makkah to Madinah.

I think these are getting too hard!  Let's do an easy one so give everyone a chance.  Which Prophet in the Quran is called the companion if the fish?  Think of the connection between a certain prophet and a (large) fish.
May Allah give me patience, Ameen.
