Patience is a Virtue Which God Loves

In many verses in the Qur'an, God commands believers to be patient.

He loves the patience, but why?

Because their patience is a sign of them accepting His destiny.

Belief in measured destiny (Qadr) and submitting to God's will is one of the highest levels of faith.

Nothing happens in this world except by His will, so be patient.

If you are searching for peace and the love of God, be patient.

Seize The Opportunity of Special Spiritual Seasons

The new season for Hajj has started, and the 10 days before Eid are known in Islam as the best 10 days of the year.

They are as special as the last ten nights of the month of Ramadan, and in such special days it is very important for believers to do their best to come closer to God.

So do your best in the next two weeks to increase in spirituality, and don't miss this new golden opportunity if you are really searching for peace.

Keep Your Good Deeds Between You and God

One of the ways of achieving sincerity in our relation with God is to try to keep good deeds a secret.

Don't ever show off or boast for having done something good, like helping someone in need, or giving to charity.

God does not accept good deeds which are not for His sake.

If you want to come closer to God, do your best to increase in faith and sincerity, and you will find peace In-Shaa-Allah.

Remember Your Creator As Often As You Can

One of the purposes of the many prayers (du'aa) we have in the Sunnah is for a Muslim to be in a regular state of remembrance of Allah.

Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, taught us prayers to say for many routine things we do in life, like eating, drinking, going out from home, returning home, ... etc.

He, peace be upon him, used to seek Allah's forgiveness more than 70 times a day, in addition to the 5 daily prayers and all the other optional prayers he would offer during the day.

Remembering Allah (SWT) brings peace and tranquility to the heart, as God mentions in the Qur'an.

If you are really searching for peace, remember God as often as you can.

Make Wise Choices in Your Life: Don't Let Your Ego Control Your Life

The decisions we make in life have an important impact on our level of inner peace.

One example is work and career...

Should one opt for a demanding management consulting job that needs at least 70 hours of work per week, and being on call 24/7 or a less demanding 40 hours job with less income?

If you choose the first option, then you are willing to sacrifice part of the time you need to spend with your family and with God for the sake of more money.

But do you actually need that extra income to cover your basic cost of living?

Or is it your ego which is pushing you to earn more to get that luxury car and bigger house?

In making the wise choice, don't let your ego decide, but let your faith guide you to what is best, if you are searching for real peace and happiness.

Learn More About God's Attributes

I recently found that learning more about God's attributes is a strong way to uplift your faith and feel closer to Him.

We learn many things in life, at school, college and at work, but learning the attributes of our Creator is something different.

The other day, a scholar was explaining God's gentleness, by explaining the meaning of His name Al-Rafeek (i.e. The Most Gentle), and just listening to the explanation made me feel I understood more, and could relate more to this Divine attribute.

If you are really searching for peace and a stronger faith, learn more and seek knowledge of God's attributes.
