Forgive and Move On

What you focus on grows.

If you have bad feelings towards someone who wronged you, you will find that these negative feelings will keep your mind busy.

What happens when you decide to forgive that person?

It's like turning over to a new page: you forget the past and focus on today.

And this is a good remedy to regaining your inner peace.

So forgive and move on.

This life is too short to waste on silly fights.

Starting a New Year With Wisdom, Patience and Peace

Who are the wise people?

The answer depends on your definition of what wisdom really means.

One definition of wisdom is "the ability to think and act using knowledge, experience, understanding, common sense, and insight."

Knowledge is very important to reach wisdom, and so is experience, understanding, common sense and insight.

May the New Year bring us all more of those qualities, and enable us all to live in peace with a Win-Win approach in life.

If you are really searching for peace, search for patience and wisdom.

God loves those who are patient.

Be Patient When Faced with Hardships: They May Be Good For you

How can a hardship be good?

That is the logical question most people would ask.

And sister Yasmin Mogahed answers this in a short sentence in her new book "Love & Happiness":

We spend so much time asking God to cure us of our hardships.

But we never stop to consider that our hardships are curing us.

All of God's Prophets went through many hardships on their spiritual journey, and eventually they grew in faith.

So be patient, if you are really searching for being closer to God.

Thank God with All Your Heart

We have so many blessings in life we are unaware of...

For the blessings we know and those we don't, thank God.

When you thank Him, you are being grateful.

You express your contentment with all what He has blessed you with.

And when you thank you, He increases you with more blessings and fills your heart with faith and peace.

If you are really searching for peace, thank your Creator

Knowledge is Light

If you want to increase in faith, do an effort to increase in beneficial knowledge.

Knowledge brings light to the heart, and increases faith, and the best type of knowledge a believer can seek is knowledge of our Creator.

Try to better understand His names and attributes, what He likes and what He doesn't, what He commands and what He prohibits.

With this knowledge, you will find your faith gradually increases, and with that more peace will enter your heart.

So start now and pray that God increases you in knowledge.

Knowledge of the Path of the Hereafter

So which type of knowledge should one seek and give high priority?

As suggested in the last post, learning to understand God's Names and Attributes is a top priority, as we were created to get to know Him, and then worship Him.

After that, all knowledge which helps guide us to the Path of the Hereafter, to reach the Abode of Peace is what we should seek.

This is the advice of Imam Abu Hamid Al-Ghazali in his amazing book (The Revival of the Sciences of Religion), and he is right.

If you are really searching for peace, seek the knowledge which will lead you to the Abode of Peace, In-Shaa-Allah

Concentrate & Be Very Focused in Prayer

The five daily prayers in Islam are 5 daily opportunities to increase in peace, faith and closeness to God.

In order to get the maximum benefit out of them, one needs to really concentrate.

Don't be distracted when you pray by worldly matters, and don't let your mind wonder here and there.

The more concentrated you are, the more peace you will find In-Shaa-Allah

5 Daily Golden Opportunities

The daily prayers in Islam are precious gifts and golden opportunities we have each day to come closer to our Creator by remembering Him, thanking Him and praising Him.

This is one of the most important pillars of Islam because they remind us of what we are really doing here on earth, and help us connect with God.

If you get a chance to pray in congregation, do so.

Don't miss these golden opportunities if you want to increase in faith and peace.

Patience, Trust in God and More Patience

God says in the Qur'an that He loves the patient.

That in itself is a sufficient motivation for a believer to be patient when going through a hard time.

We trust that with hardship there is ease, and that God responds to the supplications of believers, so keep praying, and have more patience.

After the dark night comes the break of dawn and the rising sun spreads light and hope.

More Patience: Dawn is Near

After a long night comes the daylight.

As the sun rises on the horizon, there is a new day of hope and faith.

With hardship there is always ease.

Trust God and be close to Him.

He is the Source of All Peace.

Get Rid of Debt

Not having debt to worry about is a great blessing

If you are really searching for peace, get out of debt.

If you can't, at least make a plan to reduce your debt month after month till it ends.

You will sleep better, and will have a better life quality.

Be Patient: God Loves the Patient

We are warned in the Qur'an that we will hear abuse against our religion and we are commanded to be patient.

God says in Chapter 3:

"You will surely be tested in your possessions and in yourselves.

And you will surely hear from those who were given the Scripture before you and from those who associate others with Allah much abuse.

But if you are patient and fear Allah - indeed, that is of the matters [worthy] of determination." (3:186)

So be patient, after the darkness of the night comes the light of dawn

And when I am ill, it is He who cures me

This verse from the Qur'an is quoted from Prophet Abraham, peace be upon him:

https://quran.com/26/69-82

In verse 80 in the above link he says:

"And when I am ill, it is He who cures me" (26:80)

For anyone going through a time of illness, this Qur'anic verse reminds a believer that it is God who cures, it is He who gives good health.

With this reminder, the door of hope in recovery is wide open, and is a source of optimism.

Whenever you don't feel too well, remember this verse and it will bring peace to your heart.

Do Not Despair of the Mercy of Allah

Islam is a religion of hope and faith.

Allah says in the Qur'an:

"O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah.

Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful." (39:53)

Remember that any sin you may have committed in the past, God's Mercy is greater and His doors are open for us to return to Him.

So be patient and keep smiling despite the hardships.

If you are searching for inner peace, keep going and never lose hope
