    Posted: 13 August 2009 at 10:28pm
Friday prayers in Islam consist of two main elements:

1- After the call to prayer, the Imam gives the weekly speech, which lasts around 10 to 60 minutes, and in many cases an average of around 30 minutes

2- After the talk, the Imam leads the congregation in a two-unit Friday prayers

As an example of good speeches, Imam Suhaib Webb gave this speech in Chicago in April 2008 titled (Articulating our Role as American Muslims):

(Part 1 of the Speech, 9 minutes)

This is Part 2 of the speech:

If you have a good Friday speech in video or audio format which you would like to share, please do

Today is Friday, the best day of the week

May Allah accept our prayers

Ameen

Maintaining the Ramadan Momentum – Khutbah

Imam Suhaib Webb

Fear of Allah (swt) or Love...
"qul yaa ‘Ibaadiyal-ladhiyna asrafuu ‘Alaa anfusihim laa taqnaTuu mir raHmatil-laah* in-nal-laaha yagfirudh dhunuuba jamiy’AA* in-nahuu huwal gafuurur raHiym"(39:53)

Say: "O my Servants who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah: for Allah forgives all sins: for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

(About 35 minutes)

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
 "Allah (swt)says:

'I am to my servant as he expects of Me. I am with him when he remembers Me. If he remembers Me in his heart, I remember him to Myself. If he remembers me in an assembly, I mention him in an assembly better than his. If he draws nearer to Me a hand's span, I draw nearer to him an arm's length. If he draws nearer to Me an arm's length, I draw nearer to him (an even greater) length. And if he comes to me walking, I rush to him at (great) speed.'"

The Charity of Love

Talk by Sheikh Abdal Hakim Murad - London - 9th November 2009 - 12 mins 05 secs

In this talk, given at an fundraising event as part of the Islamic Help Orphans Tour, Sheikh Abdal Hakim discusses the motives behind giving charity. He mentions the particular quality and blessing of charity given out of love for Allah and out of gratitude to Him, rather than out of guilt, pride or any other cause; and he highlights the importance for the ummah - before any other of the many social, economic, or political revolutions Muslims are devoting themselves to in the hope of renewing their communities - of a revolution of love.
