as salaamu 'alaikum,

Ramadhan Mubarak ikhwaan wa ikhwaati

My question is in regards to The Hour. The Last day. I recall a hadith of the beloved Messenger - salallaahu alahi wa sallam-where he was ask by Jibr'il-alahi salam-about the final hour and the Messenger (saws) replied as know one knows, but Allaah-azza wa jall.

Now I was reading about the significance of Jum'ah and came upon this hadith.

"Abu Huraira reported the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, as saying: ‘The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he was made to enter Paradise, on it he was expelled from it. And the Last Hour will take place on no day other than Friday.’

Now my question is-how authentic is this hadith and also can someone elaborate on this hadith?

Assaalmo Alaikom brother

To my knowledge, it is an authentic hadith

The first part of the Hadith is in Sahih Muslim, and is included in the book of Riyad Al-Saliheen, under the chapter titled (The Excellence of Friday Prayer):

And from Sahih Muslim:

Abu Huraira reported the Prophet of Allaah (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) as saying: The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created. on it he was made to enter Paradise, on it he was expelled from it. And the last hour will take place on no day other than Friday

Sahih Muslim is the second most authentic book of Hadith after Sahih Al-Bukhari

As for the Last Hour taking place on a Friday, this is when it will start

Think Win-Win for a better world for all...

Even if the prophet said so, still he does not know which friday, so there is no contradiction here.
Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. And peace upon the messengers. And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 37:180-182

Many years ago I read Maulana Maududi's explanation of this.

I cannot all of it, but it made sense.

Perhaps you can find it online.
