Condemning the Charlie Hebdo Attacks & Respecting Prophet Muhammad

In this timely khutbah, Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi gives his frank comments on the recent killing of the cartoonists in France.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) was sent as a mercy to the world, and his seerah is replete with incidents of forgiveness and love.

These incidents, put together, form the rule: other incidents that are invoked as evidence are the exception and must be understood in the overall context of the Seerah.

We also need to look at the context of this violence: there are political and social causes that allow radical voices to be heard and acted upon. Without understanding these root problems, we will never understand why such violence occurs.

The Shaykh also touches on the clear double-standards that exist: what 'freedom of expression' is being defended when modest sisters cannot express their freedoms by dressing they way they choose to?

In the final moments of Ramadan and as we bid farewell to the beautiful blessed month, it is time to reflect and take lessons for life after Ramadan.

Perhaps, one of the greatest wisdoms behind Ramadan and all of its dedication and worship is that it reintroduces Islam to us; it makes us experience the sweet taste of Iman.

Ramadan proves for us that there is nothing that could make you feel so happy, productive and fulfilled like the worship of Allah. Despite being deprived of food and drink for long hours during the month, we feel alive, refreshed and reinvigorated because our souls had a chance to get revived and to thrive.

Take few minutes to watch this video; it will give you a push that you need as Ramadan leaves...

Our Times, Our Challenges

A recent talk by Sheikh Yasir Qadhi at the MSA National Convention this month.

In order for us to move forward as a community, we must understand that there are many different paths to reaching Allah. This may include twists and turns towards impermissible options.

This is why we must establish a climate that allows us to connect through mercy and is conducive for growing together, while still holding on to our principles.

How do we embrace and benefit from the presence of everyone in our lives without condoning sin?

Dr. Yasir Qadhi explains.

Why Is there Evil in This World? And a Response to the San Bernardino Shootings

Calamities & tragedies are part of life and it is through these trials and calamities that the true strength of a believer is shown when he turns to his Lord in humility and submissiveness leaving his affairs in the Hands of Allah and putting complete trust that Allah (subḥānahu wa ta'āla) will take care of him.

Yet lately it seems that one calamity has not left the Muslim Ummah and another one strikes even harder and in this chaos many are those whose Iman is shaken and they ask the question "Why do bad things happen? Why can't life just be good!!"
Join Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi in this latest Khutbah entitled 'Why Is there Evil in This World?' and discover the wisdom behind calamities and tragedies.

In the second-half of this Khutbah Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi shares his reflections on the San Bernardino killings and advises the Muslim community to stay safe and uphold their best Muslim character in society.
