Today’s global political climate has, without a doubt, dramatically altered. With increasing levels of pressure, Muslims living in the West are feeling intensified stress, fear and doubt.

That is why, I have mobilized with AlMaghrib to present this series answering the top 3 questions we receive here at AlMaghrib on an almost daily basis

"Allah wishes ease for you"

Pearls from the Qur'an (Ramadan 2017 - Part 2):

Dr Yasir Qadhi in today's Ramadan Khatirah talks about Verse 185, from Surah Al-Baqarah.

An Ayah that is an overarching principle of our religion.

It is mentioned in the Ayah that Allah intends ease for us, but one might say "How can religion be easy if we have to fast for 17 hours during the hot summer days"

Reciting Ayat Al-Kursi

Pearls from the Qur'an (Ramadan 2017 - Part 3):

In today's Khatirah, Shaykh Dr Yasir Qadhi talks about the greatest verse of the Qur'an, which is Ayat Al-Kursi (Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 255).

It is the most blessed Ayat, but why? When should we recite this blessed verse?

Pearls from the Qur'an (Ramadan 2017 Khatirahs Part 8): The Wisdom of Suffering

Shaykh Dr Yasir Qadhi delivers a reminder about the wisdom of suffering. Allah (SWT) says: “What would Allah do with your punishment if you are grateful and believe? And ever is Allah Appreciative and Knowing”

What’s the purpose of Allah punishing you, if you are thankful and you believe in him?

Indeed Allah is the one who returns more, for no matter how little you have done!

This Ayah also provides the foundation of why this world, is a world of pain and suffering

Pearls from the Qur'an (Ramadan 2017 Khatirahs Part 9): Intoxicants: The Filth of Shaytan

Shaykh Dr Yasir Qadhi delivers his Khatirah about verses 90-92, from Surah Al-Ma’idah. Allah (SWT) says:

“O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing on] stone alters [to other than Allah ], and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may be successful. (90) Satan only wants to cause between you animosity and hatred through intoxicants and gambling and to avert you from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. So will you not desist? (91) And obey Allah and obey the Messenger and beware. And if you turn away - then know that upon Our Messenger is only [the responsibility for] clear notification. (92)

Do we know what the true meaning of ‘Intoxicant’ is?

Pearls from the Qur'an (Ramadan 2017 Khatirahs Part 16): The Reality of Tawakkul (Trust in Allah)

Dr Yasir Qadhi delivers a reminder about Verse 51, from Surah At-Tawba. Allah (SWT) says: “Say, "Never will we be struck except by what Allah has decreed for us; He is our protector." And upon Allah let the believers rely.”

This verse talks about the reality of the relationship between the servant and the creator. It also talks about the very essential, Quranic concept of Tawakkul, of putting one’s trust in Allah(SWT), including the primary benefit of Tawakkul.

Pearls from the Qur'an (Ramadan 2017 Khatirahs Part 14): The Quran: The Greatest Blessing

Dr Yasir Qadhi delivers a reminder about Verse 57 & 58, from Surah Yunus. Allah (SWT) says:

“O mankind, there has to come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the breasts and guidance and mercy for the believers. Say, "In the bounty of Allah and in His mercy - in that let them rejoice; it is better than what they accumulate."
{10: 57-58}

Allah has sent down the Qur’an, and it is a means of cleansing, purifying and cleaning the diseases of the heart, and a guidance to tell us from truth to falsehood, from right to wrong, and a mercy for all the believers.

Pearls from the Qur'an (Ramadan 2017 Khatirahs Part 16): The Neglected Prayers

Dr Yasir Qadhi delivers a valuable reminder about The Neglected Prayer, Tahajjud. Allah(SWT) says in the Qur’an:

“And from [part of] the night, pray with it as additional [worship] for you; it is expected that your Lord will resurrect you to a praised station.”
{Surah Al Isra, Verse 79}

Do we know the actual concept/importance of Tahajjud and Qiyaam Al Layl?

Even the Prophet(SAW) was encouraged to pray Tahajjud as the second revelation of the Qur’an came down.

Pearls from the Qur'an (Ramadan 2017 Khatirahs Part 18): The Blessings of Time

Dr Yasir Qadhi delivers an exceptional reminder about Surah Yasin. It is known as “The Heart of the Qur’an” as the Prophet(SAW) said! The Prophet(SAW) also reminded us that Surah Yasin should be recited over the dead.

One of the main themes of Surah Yasin is the importance of time. Allah (SWT) says: “Exalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know. And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness. And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.”

Of the signs of Allah’s power, is the night and the day. The day is stripped away so that the night comes, and we are left in darkness. Even the sun rotates in a pre-ordained orbit, showing the power of Allah (SWT)!

Pearls from the Qur'an (Ramadan 2017 Khatirahs Part 20): The Fruits of Belief in Qadr

Dr Yasir Qadhi delivers a reminder concerning the reasons why we believe in Qadr, including some of the benefits of believing in Qadr.

The belief in Qadr is based on 2 premises:

- Allah(SWT) is in control of everything
Nothing happens without Allah’s knowledge/will and determination

- The belief that Allah(SWT) is the All-Wise
Allah(SWT) decrees whatever is best

So when you know that Allah(SWT) is in control and in charge, and then you know that He is merciful, loving and caring, those 2 pillars put together, should bring about the true fruits of believing in Qadr!

In the end, Whatever Allah decrees is best and also just.

We trust Allah’s power because He is the most merciful, so our hope increases in Allah (SWT).
