Verdict # 4

Putting people on Probation (Probation Watch/PW)

Date of implementation: 29th July 2005

Description:

Anyone whose behaviour is offensive and/or who the Shura, through a majority vote, deems appropriate, can be placed on Probation Watch (hereinafter also referred to as PW).

1. Once on Probation watch, the member will remain so for 7 days. (This duration can be stretched to a maximum of 30 days, after which, if no effort can be discerned on her/his part, by the Shura members, to change her/his behaviour, s/he will be banned)

2. At the end of this period (i.e. the 7 days), the Shura will decide whether to leave the member on PW, or leave/drop the PW, or to ban her/him.

3. A couple of people shall be assigned to the person so put on Probation watch. They shall monitor the person and see that s/he is heeding the warnings (or not). During this time if the probate even rides the line of decency, s/he gets a warning, and her/his posting is deleted.

4. Anyone so put on probation should be given the same information, with addition to the reasons behind this decision alongwith a list of advice that would help her/him to change the situation in her/his favour and get her/him off the PW.This information should be forwarded in a straight forward manner and the person so put on PW should be told to follow the Islamic Leadership (which in this case is the Shura) and to respect the Shura's opinion.

5. Once on Probation, the member will be entitled to get three warnings, and if there is no improvement in her/his behaviour, then a consequent banning. NOTE: No voting will be required for the banning, any of the Admins can put such a member under a ban, provided the administrator has adequate knowledge of the warnings and the member's persistent denial of heeding advice.

6. All banned members are entitled to one appeal/hearing. The same shall be forwarded to the Shura and their decision in this regard shall be final.

Verdict # 7

Communicating with banned members

Date of implementation: 16th May 2006

Description:

It has been observed that some banned members are returning to the forum by forming new usernames/IDs. It is not easy to keep up with the ever increasing new users on the forum and to pinpoint the returning banned members (herein onwards referred to as RBMs), so the members on the forum are asked to help the administrators in this job.

It is requested that if any member on the forum finds out if such a banned person has returned under a new username/ID, s/he should report this to the admins.

If a member on the forum communicates with an RBM, s/he shall be warned and/or banned, as deemed appropriate in that case by the Administrators. However, this shall only be implemented if the member so communicated FULLY AWARE that it is an RBM and WITH KNOWLEDGE of the past status of the RBM.

Verdict # 9

Debating about different Islamic Sects

Date of Implentation: August 30th, 2006

Description:

There is to be no debate on validity of  Islamic groups like the Shia, Salafi's, Sufi's, Wahabi's, etc.  This causes confusion to new muslims and non-muslim guests and is to be avoided. Also, please review the ToS 3 and 9.
